Built for the Fire

You didn't survive chaos by chance.
You learned to read it.
Speak to it.
Carry it.
You became fluent in collapse.
A stabilizer in distortion.
A structure in free-fall.
You didn’t just make it through.
You stood still
while everything else fractured.
When others lost direction,
you became the axis.
You didn’t rise in panic-
you locked in.
Like stone in the rapids.
Unmoved.
Even as the current tore past you.
There’s a feeling in that-
a kind of focused stillness
that words can’t fully reach.
Not adrenaline. Not performance.
But ferocity as presence.
Strength without sound.
Pure function under pressure.
If you’ve known it,
you’ll feel this in your bones.
You were built for that.
But now you're learning something harder--
how to live without it.
Your nervous system is still waits for rupture.
Still listens for the crack in the structure.
Still associates pressure with purpose.
But the fire is over.
You don’t need chaos to feel capable.
You don’t need crisis to feel useful.
You don’t need exhaustion to prove you’re good.
You were built for the fire.
But you were never meant to live inside it forever.
You were meant for the field.
Where presence doesn’t require urgency.
Where strength doesn’t need to be proven.
Where nothing is falling apart-
and you’re still allowed to exist.
The part of you that held things together
when everything else broke
is not vanishing.
It’s being reassigned.
You’re not losing your power.
You’re learning to hold it
without bracing.
Let the fire know you’re grateful.
But you’re not going back.
You don’t have to be in pain
to be true.
